Stephen Schumann grew up in Park City, Utah, and was a member of the Park City Ski and Snowboard Club. He first started Ski Jumping at the age of five and was immediately hooked. At the age of seven, he then tried Nordic Skiing, and never turned back.
Schumann was first named to the U.S. Nordic Combined National Team in 2016, where he immediately started to make an impact on the Continental Cup circuit. After many years of hard work, everything finally paid off, as he represented the United States in Nordic Combined at the 2022 Winter Olympic Games in Beijing. In the 2022/23 season, Schumann scored individual World Cup points three times, placing 25th, 27th, and 28th overall during the Seefeld Triple.
Schumann graduated from the Park City Winter Sports School in 2017, and is now enrolled at Arizona State University. When he isn’t training or competing, Schumann enjoys running, mountain biking, road cycling, and rock climbing.
